Have you ever been a victim of a break-in? This is certainly not an occurrence exclusive to a few unlucky individuals. In the world we share, there are countless break-ins every year. You may watch the news and think it's just getting worse and worse, but the reality is that crime has been around since the beginning of man. However, back in the day we didn't have access to such cool and innovative electronics and safety measures. For example, the burglar alarm system, one of the as-seen-on-tv products shown today, is one that thousands of families are always taking advantage of. You can simply never be too safe in this crazy world.
When I was in high school, my father and step mother took a trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. While they were out enjoying a night on the town, their room was being burglarized. Fortunately they weren't there at the time. However, when they returned, they discovered that numerous items were missing. Unfortunately this motel room did not have a burglar alarm system. Then again, what motel room does? Statistics show that it's always safer to stay in a Hotel and avoid the motels all together. Hotel rooms are much less likely to get broken into. Although this incident with my parents didn't affect me first hand, it did make me think. I told myself, when I grow up and have a family, I will definitely invest in a decent burglar alarm system. These days I do have one, along with video cameras set to let me know if anyone is approaching the house. Sky is the limit with these gadgets now days. Virtually anything you can imagine is probably out there. From night vision cameras, to finger print locks; you can purchase it all with the right amount of cash.
